Adopt A Caseworker

With the Adopt-A-Caseworker program, caseworkers now have somewhere to turn when they need more than love to help a family. Individuals, groups and corporations may "adopt" a CPS caseworker unit to provide monetary and moral support.

Adopters establish ongoing monetary funds that caseworkers may dip into as necessary.  Caseworker units and adoptive groups are carefully matched by the development director, and there is even an opportunity for the adopter to have lunch with their unit.

Through the Adopt-A-Caseworker program, caseworkers have been able to provide children and families with everything from money to pay bills to drama lessons for a child needing a healthy outlet for her feelings. The needs met by adopters are as varied as the children in need.

To adopt a caseworker, call Joanna Clarke at (214) 624-7584.  See below for  list of different types of CPS units.

Legal Worker

This type of unit works with a number of teenagers and children in residential treatment centers. An adopter can help by providing funds to purchase clothing and gift certificates for teenagers, birthday presents for children in residential treatment centers, and baby clothes.

Family Outreach Worker

This type of unit works with low-risk families to help stop abuse and neglect before they start. The unit helps low-income single and teen parents and funds will provide items such as  bus passes, grocery gift certificates, and rewards for teenagers who complete the "Teen Parenting Program."

Adoption Preparation

This type of unit works with children who are legally free for adoption, intensely seeking adoptive placements for these children. These children sometimes fall between the cracks when it comes to getting special attention at special times like birthdays. Typical requests provide special things like birthday gifts for the children, as well as special needs such as an outing to Six Flags, class rings, driving lessons, prom dresses and more.
