Report Abuse

You can report suspected abuse anonymously by calling 1-800-252-5400.

It is the law to report suspected abuse or neglect. Last year, in Dallas county alone, there were 18,060 cases of abuse and neglect reported and investigated.

Children are vulnerable and easily victimized. They are trusting and depend on adults in their lives for guidance and to take care of all of their needs. The most common abuser is a person who the child knows or someone with the child ilves, not the strangers we warn them about. Because children have a combination of respect for authority and loyalty, they are not only at an increased risk of abuse, but they are less likely to tell anyone when someone is abusing or neglecting them.

Community Partners of Dallas and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) encourage you to become an advocate for children in order to assure their safety. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, the law requires you to report it.
